Likeability in Cars

Just as some people are more likeable than others, the same can be applied to cars. We tolerate a lot more from people that are likeable than from that asshole who always gets on our nerves.

What about cars, though? If you meet someone who won't stop blabbing about their 6-series, you'll probably get fed up. Or somebody wearing gear covered in Ferrari gear? Tool, right?

But what about the Fiat 500? In really real life, I met two different people who owned Fiat 500s, one who wouldn't shut up about his and the other, an Abarth owner, was dressed head to toe in Fiat gear. I didn't hate either of them! The talker got quite a few facts wrong, but that barely bothered me because of how much he loved his little Fiat. The Abarth guy looked ridiculous, but he's clearly not trying to impress anybody but himself, so more power to him.

What cars do find to be more likeable or unlikeable, with an aura that extends to their owners?

For me, least likeable is a tie between Prius and Mustang. Most likeable is probably Fiat 500.

Anyone in a 328, A4, or C300 Sport (or whatever the new designation is now) is pretty much on my shit list.

I loved my Mustang. It was cheap and didn't handle well, and it was white. But it was mine and I loved it in spite of it's flaws. I just....did. :-)

For me it's G35 or G37's. I almost got run over by one driven by someone whom I actually helped once when I was crossing in a crosswalk on a walk sign. C'mon man.

I like Mustangs, but I don't think they're very likeable. Way too much muscle car and Americana baggage.

I used to own a G35 Coupe, which I loved, but that car is pretty low on the likeability scale. And now I drive a BMW...

As a former G35 owner, I agree. I might be biased though, in thinking that the G37 is about 10% worse.

There was another memorable instance of a G35 owner crossing 3 lanes (fast and furious lane change style) then slamming on the brakes in front of me. Duuuuude. I have rear drums, my brakes suck...that was a close call. Glad you came to your senses :P

Volvo and old Land Rover owners are the best (totally not biased) .

Mine was just a little V6. My son used to call it "My Little Pony" to which he'd get slapped.

That's actually pretty funny. He still deserved to be slapped, of course.

Today I was driving on the freeway and ended up behind a Pacifica. They did nothing out of the ordinary or wrong, but I felt an unrelenting rage towards the vehicle.

Something about this just makes me angry, I guess.

You know, I see that sometimes, but around here, the G35s and G37s are nowhere near the level of the cars I just mentioned.
